An Individual Learning Plan (ILP) is a tool to assist students with establishing current/future academic, career and social/emotional goals.  South Kingstown has adopted the NAVIANCE Program for all students as their on-line ILP platform.  As students progress through grades 6-12 they will utilize NAVIANCE to:

  • Engage in career exploration
  • Record goals and progress towards these goals
  • Review courses and plan for the future
  • Create a resume
  • Research and apply to post-secondary schools
  • Download local scholarships and search for national scholarships

This year students will be setting academic and social/emotional goals in their ILPs.  These goals will be shared with parents/guardians during Student-Led Conferences.  During Quarter 4 students will have the opportunity to reflect on their goals which were set prior to Student-Led Conferences.

Students also begin career exploration in grade 6 by completing career inventories in the NAVIANCE program.  Each year all career inventories and goals are stored within the students’ NAVIANCE account for future reference.

The NAVIANCE program is new to students and teachers in South Kingstown this year.  Parents will have access to their child’s NAVIANCE account in 2019.

Any questions about ILPs please contact me.
