Broad Rock Middle School students are proudly showcasing their artwork at Hera Gallery in Wakefield, Rhode Island. A part of the 31st Biennial Children's Art Exhibition, these young artists have joined their peers from across the state in displaying over 150 pieces of art in a variety of mediums including drawings, paintings, sculptures, and ceramics.
The exhibition is open for viewing from Wednesday to Friday, between 1pm and 5pm, and on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. No appointments are needed.
The 6th graders include Emma Morrissey, Landon Ji, Charlotte Hall, Wes Marton, and Norah Roebuck. From the 7th grade, we have Phoebe Moretti. And the 8th graders are Piper Light, Sadie Beatrice, Jocelyn Xie, and Gabrielle Briggs.
Broad Rock Middle School is one of the many participating schools, which also include Rocky Hill Country Day School, Quidnessett Elementary, Stony Lane Elementary, Forest Park Elementary, Fishing Cove Elementary, Wickford Middle School, Hamilton Elementary School, Davisville Academy, Davisville Middle School, The Compass School, The Lincoln School, West Kingston Elementary School, Peace Dale Elementary School, Matunuck Elementary School, Meadowbrook Waldorf School and Bain Middle School.
Witnessing this exhibition serves as a reminder of the importance of art education in our schools. Their work not only brightens the gallery walls but also shows how hard the students are working in the classroom. We are incredibly proud of our Broad Rock Middle School students and all participants in this exhibition. We are also very grateful to the Hera Gallery for taking the opportunity to display the student artwork and reinforce the need for arts in school.
