The planner that your child received on the first day of school will be used daily to record homework assignments. Most homework information is also available on the Rubies team link at the BRMS website @skschools.net. The planner is also used as a hall pass if your child needs to leave class to use the lav, see the nurse, etc. A good way to stay informed is to check the planner daily. Brief notes may be written in the planner between the core subject teachers and parents as needed. It is your child's responsibility to have the planner at all times. The first planner is provided free of charge. A replacement planner must be purchased if a student loses the first planner. It is expected that all pages will remain in the planner until the end of the year.
Parents: We welcome your involvement! Let us know if you have any suggestions or areas of expertise youĂd like to share with us. We are looking forward to an exciting and challenging year!

Purpose of the Student Planner
The planner that your child received on the first day of school is to be used daily to record homework assignments. The planner is also used as a hall pass if your child needs to leave class to use the lav, see the nurse, etc. Important information regarding school policies, a school calendar and additional helpful information regarding study habits, etc. are included as well as.
It is your child’s responsibility to have the planner at all times.
Homework is posted on each teacher's board daily. Students are responsible for recording daily assignments in their planners.
Please visit the "homework" link on the left. However, please realize that some teachers will record homework daily at this site, while others will keep you informed with an overview of the work being done in class. Therefore, the most accurate record of daily homework will be the information that your child copied exactly off each teacher's board.
Parents: A good way to stay informed is to check the planner daily. Brief notes may be written in the planner between the core subject teachers and parents as needed.
The first planner is provided free of charge. A replacement planner must be purchased if a student loses the first planner.
It is expected that all pages will remain in the planner until the end of the year.
ABSENCES
It is important that each student is connected to the lessons/concepts taught daily. Therefore, when your child is absent, it is helpful for parents to call the office on the morning of the absence and notify staff that you would like to pick work up at the end of the school day for your child. Completing missed work while absent enables your child to understand the lessons more completely upon return to classes. (Please do not expect other students to successfully deliver your child's work to them.)
We look forward to an exciting year of skill building, investigation and enrichment as we share this academic year together!
