WELCOME TO THE GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT
Student Led Conferences are scheduled for Friday, February 3, 2012.
Grade 5 Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Friday, December 2, 2011.
This year, Broad Rock students will be setting goals and assessing them throughout the school year. The formal document is called the Individual Learning Plan (ILP), and I have started to provide students with an overview of the ILP as a tool for achievement and self-assessment. As we begin quarter 2, students will be developing an academic goal and a personal/social goal for their ILPs. Then, each quarter, students will review their action steps and goals. The ILP really connects well with Student Led Conferences which will be on Friday, February 3, 2012.
Grade 6 students have created student porfolios on www.waytogoRI.org, an internet based site sponsored by the State of RI and the R.I Higher Education Assistance Authority. The site is offered free to students in most school districts in Rhode Island and is a wonderful tool for career exploration and school planning for students in elementary, middle and high school.
